No Pick, Just Beats: Shedeur Sanders Handles Draft Night His Own Way

Sanders was all prepared to go in the first round.

But while he was waiting to hear his name possibly get called, he was rapping at his draft party in Texas.

One fan commented on social media:

“At least he has a backup plan when he goes undrafted.”

It is safe to say that the younger Sanders is not necessarily beloved by all football fans, which is part of the reason some were happy to see him fall all the way out of the first round.

Could Shedeur Sanders Go in the Second Round?

After there was a thought that Sanders could go to a team like the Pittsburgh Steelers or even the New York Giants after they traded back into the first round, he wasn’t selected. That begs the question: Which team will take a chance on him tonight?

The Cleveland Browns, after passing on a long-term quarterback option in the first round in favor of Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham, will start the second round.

Perhaps head coach Kevin Stefanski will move to take the 4,000-yard passer then.

Could the New Orleans Saints at pick No. 40 overall decide to take him after going with Texas offensive lineman Kelvin Banks Jr. in the first round?

A wildcard in the second round for Sanders could also be the Los Angeles Rams at pick No. 46 overall. While quarterback Matthew Stafford continues his career, it is fair to say that he is 37 years of age and easily on the back nine of his career.

Could head coach Sean McVay draft Sanders to sit and develop for a few years before taking over from the Super Bowl champion signal-caller?

    It is a fascinating thought.
