The Ohio State Buckeyes came into their game against the Penn State Nittany Lions knowing they needed to make a statement which they got from their superstar quarterback Julian Sayin in the form of a very clinical performance in the first half of play.
This got fans on X to declare him the frontrunner for the Heisman trophy:
“Give Sayin the Heisman,” stated a fan.

“JULIAN SAYIN 2025 HEISMAN WINNER,” said a fan.
“I think it’s time we put Julian Sayin in the Heisman Trophy conversation…… This guy is balling!!!,” commented a fan.

The opening drive set the tone for the game. Starting from their own 11-yard line after a Penn State punt, Sayin carved up the Nittany Lions’ secondary. He completed all six of his attempts on that opening march, accumulating 71 yards before finding star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith for a 14-yard scoring connection on third down. Smith hauled in three receptions for 42 yards on that drive alone.

Julian Sayin’s 45-Yard Touchdown Pass Extends Ohio State’s Lead
Midway through the second quarter, a key moment in Sayin’s game came from his own 30-yard line in the face of Penn State’s defense.
Sayin showed the dual threat potential that makes him so dangerous as he shook off a collapsing pocket and scrambled for nine yards prolonging the drive. Three plays later, Sayin threw a strike for a touchdown from 45 yards out to Carnell Tate to extend Ohio State’s lead.
