Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders is going through something serious, it seems, after his latest admission ahead of his scheduled press conference on Monday. Sanders, who wasn’t in Boulder during the spring and the summer, has kept his health details under wraps.
The upcoming press conference is expected to answer some of those queries as his medical team will also be with him. Amid this, there are several rumors going around, with some saying that Sanders will be announcing his resignation and others saying he’s retiring from the sport.
On Sunday, Sanders, who is worth $60 million (via Celebrity Net Worth), posted an Instagram video, speaking about his feelings ahead of the press conference. He even said that he had just prepared the will.
“I don’t know if I’m ready mentally, emotionally,” Sanders said. “Last night was tough, yesterday was tough. Because I had to make a will. It’s not easy at all. To think that you may not be here. But you want to leave here a better street.”

Previously, his elder son, Deion Sanders Jr., also revealed that Coach Prime was compelled to draft a will amid the health scare.
“It was a hard-fought battle,” he said. “It was a battle that was fought and won.”
Deion Sanders’ Upcoming Press Conference Details and Context
Deion Sanders has called for a press conference, which is scheduled to take place on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 11 a.m. MDT (1 p.m. ET). The Buffaloes’ head coach will be joined by medical personnel from CU Anschutz / UCHealth. It will take place in Boulder, Colorado. It will be broadcast live via ESPN+ and streamed on Colorado’s official YouTube and Facebook channels.
Earlier on July 9, at Big 12 Media Days, Sanders updated that he is already back to take over his responsibilities as head coach.
“I’m already back,” Sanders told ESPN’s Pete Thamel. “I’m here today. I’m handling my responsibilities. So I look forward to it. I can’t wait. You’ve got to understand, some of the young men I haven’t even met yet.”
On July 15, Sanders said on X that he’s “Back and Feeling Great!” Moreover, in a video shared by his son, he said:
“You know I’m still going through something. . . . I ain’t all the way recovered.”
The upcoming press conference will be Sanders’s first official media availability of fall camp for the 2025 college football season. Meanwhile, the Buffaloes are preparing for their August 29 season opener against Georgia Tech. Unless fan speculations turn out to be true, Sanders is expected to be on the sidelines for the 2025 college football season.
