This displays the confidence that has put him on a championship level in college football. For a player that has already earned Freshman All-American recognition, the notion of having a backup plan seems antithetical to his championship mentality.

Meanwhile, Deion Sanders’ health situation over the offseason has also placed more responsibility on players like Seaton. Because Sanders shapes culture and influences recruiting, the Buffaloes will need their leader healthy for them to remain a successful program.

Jordan Seaton’s Rise as Colorado’s Offensive Anchor

The sophomore tackle begins the 2025 season with a level of expectations to match his confident social media posts. After having played in all 13 games as a freshman, with all of those being starts, Jordan Seaton achieved the kind of recognition that first-year players in major college football rarely receive.

Seaton’s freshman season garnered attention from national evaluators. The Walter Camp Foundation placed him on its 2025 Preseason All-America second team, joining an elite group of offensive linemen in the country who are among the best.

Several Preseason All-Big 12 teams recognized Seaton’s potential. These honors reflect his rapid ascent as a player, and the faith coaches established in him over 13 games of protecting the quarterback and creating running lanes.

Seaton’s confidence should stem from one of the most remarkable freshman seasons in Colorado football history. Not only did he become the first true freshman offensive tackle in program history to start every game for the Buffaloes, but he accumulated 809 snaps in 13 games.

Seaton’s pass protection stats exemplify incredible maturity for a true freshman player. He pass blocked for 611 snaps and allowed only two to three sacks all year. He pass blocked all 11 of his games without allowing a sack for the whole game to any opposing pass rushers.

Jordan Seaton’s journey as a recruit to elite player was not only developmental but physical, too. He went from 360 pounds as a high school recruit to 305 pounds as a more athletic 6’5″ player. His improved mobility led to significant improvements in his strength and power as an athlete.
