Clemson Tigers once again came out sloppy as they were trailing 7-13 against Georgia Tech at halftime. For the second week in a row, Clemson was losing at the half. Their offense was having terrible time trying to get any rhythm early on.
Fans expressed their frustration on social media as coach Dabo Swinney was caught in the storm.
“Used cars salesmen Dabo Swinney. Is there a bigger fraud than him and Clemson?” said a fan.
“This Dabo Swinney character is so washed and I love it,” stated a fan.
“I am enjoying the downfall of Dabo Swinney,” remarked a fan.
“Cade Klubnik is a pu*sy. Dabo Swinney is a pu*sy,” posted a fan.
“Dabo Swinney era in Clemson is over, future Iowa football head coach,” commented another fan pertaining to Clemson and Dabo Swinney’s display.
“Dabo Swinney Osama Bin Laden🤝Dead in the Atlantic,” an outofpocket comment coming from a fan.
There was no hiding the offensive struggles. Before their only scoring drive, Clemson had only managed a total of 83 yards. That late in the second quarter possession was the only real exception. They marched 75 yards in roughly seven minutes.
Clemson QB Cade Klubnik had all kinds of issues holding on to the ball. He actually fumbled it twice. He did lose one of the fumbles. That was a huge turnover, and the team was punished by the turnover.
Nolan Hauser’s Missed Kick Leads to Georgia Tech’s Quick Strike
Dabo Swinney called a timeout before a 53-yard field goal attempt and after the timeout, kicker Nolan Hauser missed his attempt. Georgia Tech took over with a short field and quickly scored in just four plays to lead, 10-0.
The defense, in addition to other problems, had issues tackling Yellow Jackets players. They also missed some tackles which created several big hits. Georgia Tech had 189 total yards when halftime hit. They were averaging over six yards per snap. The Tigers had not recorded any turnovers on defense, in stark contrast to their first two games when they created five total.
Despite these issues, Randall, senior running back, was flying under the radar while playing well. He had 51 rushing yards by halftime and ripped off a powerful 30-yards on a 3rd-and-22. Randall averaged more than seven yards per carry. He definitely showed how difficult he was to tackle.
So far, Clemson has written a comeback script and has remained agonizingly close, 14-13, with eight minutes remaining in Q3. The Clemson Tigers are leading.
