Shilo Sanders Reveals Plan After NFL Scouting Combine Snub

The upcoming NFL Scouting Combine has 329 prospects this year to Indianapolis. However, several notable names were left out from the event to be held at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Shilo Sanders was one of the prospects not invited to the Combine. However, he still has a plan to make up for this and find a way to test his measurables.

On Thursday, Shilo Sanders released a new video on his YouTube channel. In that video, he talked about his snub from the Combine and how he is alternatively preparing for Colorado’s upcoming Pro Day.

“I didn’t get invited to the Combine, so I brought the Combine to me,” Shilo said. He then proceeded to show the equipment brought to the Buffs facility which is the exact one used in the Combine to measure the 40-yard dash.

The safety has partnered with Zybek Sports, who have been timing the 40-yard dash at the combine for the last 13 years. Thanks to the connections of his father, Deion Sanders, Shilo has access to resources that would have been otherwise difficult to obtain.

In a follow-up video on Friday, Shilo Sanders shared more details about his Scouting Combine snub. He also asked his haters to compare his stats to the other defensive prospects invited to Indianapolis.

“Road to glory, you know what I’m saying. We up here, we training for the preparation for the Pro Day,” Shilo said. “You know, we ain’t get invited to the Combine…. You think they (The Scouting Combine) were like, we just got too many Colorado guys that could come turn up?” Shilo joked.

“I don’t know what it is bro. Bro it’s a lot of people, like y’all want to talk junk about me the haters? Alright, so folks be hating. Y’all got to look at everybody that was invited, all the safeties, all the DBs, and compare them to me and let me know.. I have a resume bro.”

The video then cuts to Shilo Sanders being trained on how to run the 40-yard dash and other drills during Pro Day. It ends with him hitting the weight room to prepare and develop his physicality and strength.

Mike Florio Shares His Thoughts on Shilo Sander’s Creative Way of Tracking His 40-Yard Dash

Mike Florio of “Pro Football Talk” complimented the Colorado safety for his creative idea of noting down his 40-yard time at Colorado’s Pro Day.

However, he also believes that not actually recording his time at Indianapolis could potentially damage his draft stocks.

He then suggested the safety of finding a way into Lucas Oil Stadium to avoid any potential collateral damage.

“I’ve been hearing about this for years. How do you compare the times at Lucas Oil Stadium….to the times elsewhere on a different surface,” Florio questioned. “It’s one of the sneaky little things…scouts will add a tenth of a second based upon where it is that a guy has run…If you really want to do it right, find a way to get access to Lucas Oil Stadium and do it there.”

Several NFL draft experts don’t view Shilo Sanders as a prospect to be drafted in April. He is projected to be a late seventh-round pick or go undrafted altogether as a free agent.

Still, the safety believes in his talents and is looking to make a name for himself in the league.
