Warren Sapp, the Colorado Buffaloes Defensive Pass Rush Coordinator, used his social media to wish his boss Deion Sanders a happy 58th birthday with a classic selfie and thanked him for giving the “day off”.
“Thanks for the Day Off Boss! Happy Birthday!! #SappGoingFishing @deionsanders,” Sapp captioned alongside the photo of the two football legends together

The $60M worth coach, as per Celebrity Net Worth, has exhibited amazing fortitude throughout 2025. He was diagnosed with cancer in early 2025, had surgery to remove his bladder, and after winning that battle, he was back as the Buffaloes Head Coach.
Sanders’ medical team told him he was “cured of cancer” which allowed the legendary coach to put all of his energy and effort into coaching the Buffaloes, for the important third season of his coaching legacy.
Sapp’s social media tribute epitomizes the relationship between two legends of the game who have shared a unique history in their championship culture to Boulder. The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle joined Sanders’ staff as part of a stronger-than-ever group of NFL legends assigned to the Sanders project of developing students in college football.

Buffaloes Look To Start Strong Under Deion Sanders’ Leadership
The ties that bind Sapp and Sanders go back further than the relationships they now have in Colorado. Both players were absolute stars in the NFL together, and they both know how to create a winning program from nothing.
Sanders has put together one of the best coaching staff in the league with a bunch of household names and Hall of Famers set to coach the Colorado side. In addition to Sapp, Sanders has Hall of Fame running back Marshall Faulk, and several others who have played professionally and have had lots of other accomplishments.
The Buffaloes are currently at the 10th spot in the power rankings ahead of the new Big 12 season, but their recent player and coaching roster show that Colorado Buffaloes are taking the charge in under Sanders’ leadership.
With games remaining against the likes of Houston, Wyoming, BYU, TCU, Iowa State, Utah, Arizona, West Virginia, Arizona State, and Kansas State, the Buffaloes will have a tough go at Big 12 competition.
The Colorado Buffaloes will officially kick off the proceedings for the 2025 season against Georgia Tech on August 29. The Friday fixture will be at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado, slated to begin at 6:00 p.m Mountain Time.
