South Alabama Jaguars Depth Chart

The South Alabama Jaguars football program represents the University of South Alabama (USA) in Mobile, Alabama. Established in 2009, the Jaguars quickly made their mark in college football, transitioning from an independent team to joining the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) as a member of the Sun Belt Conference in 2012. The team’s colors are red, white, and blue, symbolizing their patriotic spirit and community pride.
The Jaguars play their home games at Hancock Whitney Stadium, a state-of-the-art facility located on the USA campus. Opened in 2020, the stadium boasts a seating capacity of approximately 25,000 and provides a modern and vibrant atmosphere for fans. The venue is equipped with top-notch amenities, including premium seating options, a large video board, and excellent sightlines, enhancing the game-day experience for all attendees.
As a relatively young program, the South Alabama Jaguars have shown remarkable growth and potential. Under the guidance of head coach Kane Wommack, who took over in 2021, the team has been working diligently to establish itself as a competitive force within the Sun Belt Conference. Wommack, known for his defensive acumen and energetic coaching style, has been instrumental in recruiting talented players and developing a cohesive team culture.
The Jaguars have been steadily improving their performance, earning respect and recognition within the conference. Notable achievements include their first bowl game appearance in the 2014 Camellia Bowl and significant victories over established programs. The team’s progress is also reflected in its increasing number of NFL prospects and players making it to professional leagues.
In addition to their on-field endeavors, the Jaguars football program is committed to academic excellence and community engagement. The student-athletes are encouraged to excel in their studies and participate in various community service initiatives, fostering a well-rounded and responsible approach to their collegiate careers.
The South Alabama Jaguars continue to build their legacy, striving for success both on and off the field, and remain a source of pride for the university and its supporters.
