Once again, the SEC has proven to be very competitive in the 2025 season. The only thing that is confirmed is that no team is safe at the top of the standings, with several of them leading at one point or another, and we’re only halfway through the season.

SEC Baseball: Who Rises and Who Falls
One of the early leaders was the Texas A&M Aggies, who held the top spot in the D1Baseball Top 25 in late February. However, they did not fare well in March as they lost six straight conference games until their first win over the University of Kentucky on March 28.

The Aggies seem to have solved at least part of their problems, as they are currently on a remarkable eight-game winning streak, including six conference wins. They will look to keep the flame alive this Friday when they take on the Arkansas Razorbacks in a doubleheader.
This resurgence has allowed Texas A&M to move up in the standings, although they are still a long way from the top. They currently sit in 11th place in the SEC with seven wins and nine losses.
Three teams have shared the top spot over the past few weeks and are currently very close to one another.
The Tennessee Vols enjoyed the top spot in the conference at the beginning of April, but have slowly slipped back. They have not fared badly so far this month with six wins and three losses, but only half of their wins and all of their losses have been SEC games.
This has put them in third place, where they currently sit, with 11 wins and four losses (32 and 5 overall). They have an excellent opportunity to make up ground in the conference this weekend as they face the University of Kentucky, currently outside the top 10 in the conference (12th), in a three-game series.
The Arkansas Razorbacks ousted Tennessee. The Hogs counted all of their games as wins during the first third of April, vaulting them to the top of the conference standings.
But just as quickly as they rose, they fell. The Razorbacks have lost their last three SEC games, two to Georgia and Thursday’s one to Texas A&M, which have been fatal for them.
The University of Texas took advantage of Arkansas’ double slip against Georgia. While the Razorbacks lost those games, the Longhorns took two of three against the University of Kentucky and Thursday’s game against Auburn to take a two-game lead.
However, the University of Texas is far from comfortable in first place, as four teams are chasing them with less than four games to go.

The chasing pack includes Arkansas and Tennessee, as well as LSU, which has been slowly but surely working its way up, and Georgia, which also had a stint at the top earlier in the season.
