Colorado seeks to win again on Friday after their win against Delaware, and Coach Prime has been experimenting. Quarterback Ryan Staub, who was supposed to be the third string quarterback for the Buffaloes, was seen getting reps with the team’s starters, and this has raised many eyebrows, especially over what might happen to QB1 Kaidon Salter, who struggled in getting Colorado’s offense going against Georgia Tech.

Third string quarterbacks usually do not get much chances to play, as they are considered the emergency options if the QB1 and the backup cannot play or perform. This has many fans talking on an X post by @dnvr_buffs, with some even noting that this could mean bad news for Salter while others welcomed the prospect.
“Salter getting benched?” asked one fan.
“Yea Ggs 4-8 loading,” added another person.
“Man I can’t wait for Friday!,” one person amused with the situation, said.
“Stab should start against UH! Salter isn’t the one! When a QB loses confidence, they become hesitant, indecisive, and inaccurate, which leads to a downward spiral of poor performance, which is detrimental to the offensive & morale. @CUBuffsFootball @DeionSanders @DeionSandersJr,” noted another commenter.
“Salt and Juju got first team reps all spring, summer and camp. Now y’all mad Staub got in first team? Like he Didn’t produce in the game? And he has always showed some good throws in practice if u watched WellOff…” one commenter pointed out.
“How yal want the browns to up 2 depth chat with 1 preseason game but against coach prime doing same for a kid thats been with them for 3 years & as delivered in games played is crazy work & i been peeping the pattern from charlie, ben now staub make of that what yal will,” commented another person.
Salter performed well in that 31-7 rout of the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens, with rookie sensation Julian Lewis finally getting his time to shine in that game, but was not able to score.

Ryan Staub Performed Well vs. Delaware
As for why Staub was getting the nod from Coach Prime, he also got some minutes in during that game against Delaware and even gotten in two touchdown passes against the Blue Hens.
“He’s just been waiting for his opportunity,” Sanders told the media regarding Staub. “Never jumped in the portal, he had every right to think that way. But he’s just been a great human being and a great young man, like a leader amongst that room. All he needed was the opportunity, and I thought it was time.”
Staub led the Buffaloes to a 75-yard touchdown drive with a 31-yard pass to wide receiver Joseph Williams as the first half ended. He then followed it up with a a 21-yard touchdown pass to running back Dekalon Taylor. He then had another touchdown pass in the second half, throwing it to wide receiver Sincere Brown.
