Deion Sanders Loses 4-Star WR to Portal as Colorado Reels from Travis Hunter’s NFL Exit

The Colorado Buffaloes lost two-way phenom Travis Hunter to the NFL Draft, and now head coach Deion Sanders has lost another wide receiver. Four-star Adrian Wilson has decided to hit the transfer portal after one season at Boulder.

Although Wilson, who committed last October, didn’t play any snaps last season, he’s expected to be among the wide receivers who’ll fill the gap left by Hunter. Now, Coach Prime will be forced to address the wide receiver position ahead of 2025.

Another Blow for Colorado: 4-Star Receiver Leaves Amid Travis Hunter Departure

Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes finished this season with a 9-4 overall record, marking the program’s first winning record since going 10-4 in 2016 and their first bowl game appearance since 2020. Since CU’s bowl win, though, Sanders has lost several of his star players.

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders is heading to the NFL, as are Travis Hunter, Shiloh Sanders, and Jimmy Horn. Those exits shouldn’t be a problem, considering they were expected, but part of the replacement crew is beginning to hit the transfer portal.

Four-star wide receiver Adrian Wilson has entered the transfer portal. He joins three-star quarterback Walter Taylor (Ball State), three-star wide receiver Jordan Onovughe (Stanford), and three-star running back Isaiah Augustave. Wilson’s exit marks Colorado’s 23rd exit.

What’s Next For WR Adrian Wilson?

Wilson was a consensus four-star prospect out of Weiss High School in Pflugerville, Texas. He was one of three wideouts from the class of 2025 to sign with the Buffaloes and participate in spring practice, together with Quentin Gibson and Quanell X Farrakhan Jr.

In high school, Wilson was named first-team All-District for three straight seasons from 2022-24. Between his junior and senior seasons, he recorded 107 catches for 1,988 yards and 28 touchdowns. He was ranked as the No. 35 wide receiver and the No. 39 player from Texas in the 2025 class.
