“Bryce Underwood Already Hates Michigan”: Ohio State Fans React As Wolverines QB Gets In Heated Altercation With Teammate Amid Oklahoma Loss

Michigan freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood found himself in the spotlight for reasons beyond his play on the field Saturday. During the second quarter of the Wolverines’ clash with Oklahoma, Underwood was seen in a heated exchange with running back Justice Haynes on the sideline.

The freshman QB appeared to grab Haynes by the arm, forcing teammates to step in before things escalated further. The moment, however, was short-lived. But the internet didn’t let it go by easily as fans started coming up with theories.

Underwood joined Michigan earlier this year. So far, he has played two games. The first one ended in Michigan dominating the New Mexico Lobos 34-17. Michigan lost the second game 13-24 against Oklahoma.

An Ohio fan posted a video of Underwood’s altercation with Haynes on X with the caption:

“Not even 2 games in and Bryce Underwood already hates Michigan.”

“Damn, that’s a 12 million dollar headache right there!” a fan responded.

“You’d think if they were going to pay $12 million for a QB, they’d find out if he can throw the ball further than 15 yards,” a fan wrote.

“These hyped up QBs are doing everyone a favor by crashing out before they hit the NFL,” a fan wrote.

    “He sux,” a fan wrote.

“They were better when they cheated,” a fan wrote.

But not everyone saw Underwood’s action as a crash-out. Some fans pointed out that it was just his way of asking his teammates to do better.

“It’s called leadership, he wants guys to be accountable. Learn it sometime,” another fan commented.

Whatever the motive might’ve been behind the heated discussion, it didn’t look good on screen.

Sherrone Moore Spoke On Bryce Underwood’s Altercation With Justice Haynes

While the fans on social media continued to dissect the altercation between the two players, head coach Sherrone Moore added context to the situation post-game. The coach downplayed the intensity, claiming that it was merely a communication error.

As per Scott Bell, even though the players got into a heated exchange, it was blown out of proportion on social media.

“Sherrone Moore called the Bryce Underwood-Justice Haynes argument on the sideline late in the first half a “communication error” and said they hashed it out right after the sideline spat was caught on camera,” Bell wrote on X.

The Wolverines weren’t in control of the game in the first half, being down 0-14. They did find some rhythm in the third quarter and posted 13 points on the board, but couldn’t stop the Oklahoma offense from taking the game away. They’ll play Central Michigan next on September 13.
