    Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning has opened up about his relationship with his grandfather, NFL legend Archie Manning. While discussing a variety of topics with ESPN’s Marty Smith, Manning detailed how important and present Archie has been in his football journey to this point.

    Arch is a member of the famous Manning family, which includes Archie, Peyton Manning, and Eli Manning. Archie was a longtime New Orleans Saint and is a member of the Saints Hall of Fame and Ring of Honor. Meanwhile, Peyton is a five-time NFL MVP and a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos. Eli is also a two-time Super Bowl champion with the New York Giants and a member of their Ring of Honor.

    What Did Arch Manning Reveal About Archie Manning?

    Arch revealed that his grandfather attended almost all of his high school practices and has been an invaluable mentor throughout his football journey.

    “He came to just about every practice in high school, and he was a great athlete. He played baseball and football at Ole Miss and went on to play for the Saints and lived in New Orleans. So, he’s just the ultimate person for me, the ultimate role model, and I look up to him every day,” he said.

    Arch continued by highlighting the life lessons Archie constantly reminds him of.

    “He just reminds me to be a good guy, and so that’s what I take from him,” he added.

    Manning is one of the most intriguing and exciting prospects in recent college football memory. Not only is his family football royalty, but he is also one of the most talented quarterbacks in the nation.

    Manning is an extremely accurate passer who can make difficult throws on short, intermediate, and deep routes. He has a strong football IQ, allowing him to read defensive schemes with ease. Unlike his uncles Peyton and Eli, Manning is also highly mobile and agile, adding another dimension to his game.

    In limited action this season, he amassed 939 passing yards, 13 total touchdowns (nine passing, four rushing), and a completion percentage of 67.8%. His best game of the season came against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, when he threw for 325 yards with an 83.9% completion percentage while recording three total touchdowns.
