Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning and Ryan Wingo shared their reaction after teammate Parker Livingstone surprised everyone with his transfer portal decision, days after the team won the Citrus Bowl matchup against the Michigan Wolverines.
On Thursday, Manning posted a picture of two on the field with a worrisome emoji, suggesting he is disappointed with the decision. Meanwhile, Wingo posted two crossed fingers emojis, suggesting that he is wishing Livingstone the best for his future.

The redshirt freshman receiver caught 29 receptions for 516 yards and six touchdowns in 2025. He was one of Manning’s favorite targets on offense. Livingstone still has three years of eligibility left before exhausting his tenure in college football.
With his exit to the transfer portal, Steve Sarkisian’s Texas might pursue other transfer wide receivers, such as Auburn standout Cam Coleman, in the portal.

Arch Manning Staying Back Despite Transfer Portal Storm To Hit Texas
In the eyes of many, Texas underperformed this season. They were ranked at the top in the preseason polls with Arch Manning touted as the preseason Heisman favorite. But by the end of their season-opening loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes, a harsh reality hit Texas that they may not be that good.
They ended up losing two more games to Florida and Georgia, as it essentially eliminated them from the College Football Playoff.
Because of what can be considered a failed season, there is a possibility that multiple players will now go for transfer portal to seek opportunities with better squads.
However, despite the storm, Manning has chosen to stay back and will return next season.
“I felt like I developed a lot this year, especially towards the back half, and I want to keep it going,” Manning said. “There’s no reason to leave. I feel like I got a lot more football left to play, and excited to still be a part of this team.”
Therefore, the Longhorns quarterback is committed to the team’s long-term plans, and if the Citrus Bowl was any indication, Manning does have the talent to bring glory to Texas in 2026.
