Antonio Brown took to social media with harsh criticism of Deion Sanders regarding the news that Shilo Sanders was waived off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster. Shilo was ejected from a preseason game on Aug. 23 after throwing a punch at Bills tight end Zach Davidson.
“At least his pops will retire his Colorado jersey soon,” said Brown reacting to the undrafted Tampa Bay rookie’s ejection and eventual removal from the side’s 53-man roster.

However, that wasn’t the only low blow Brown took on social media. He made another comment pertaining to the Sanders’ footballing dynasty, questioning their readiness at the biggest stage.
“whole Sanders fam gonna end up getting cut out the league”, he stated.

Shilo Sanders was just waived from the team after throwing the punch at Bills tight end Zach Davidson, leading to an ejection, which ultimately cost the rookie safety a spot on the team.
Head coach Todd Bowles did not pull any punches on the situation. Bowles stated that Sanders’ behavior was “inexcusable“. After being ejected, the Buccaneers wasted no time in cutting Sanders because they have some concerns regarding discipline and reliability at the safety position.
Sanders’ journey through college was impressive in all the programs. He played for South Carolina, Jackson State, and Colorado, which included second-team All-SWAC honors. He ended his college career by leading Colorado in tackles following arm surgery, and finishing with 217 tackles and six interceptions.

Ongoing Legal Battles Cloud Antonio Brown’s Public Image
Antonio Brown makes these comments knowing that his own circumstances are precarious. The former Buccaneers receiver is facing issues, including an active arrest warrant for attempted second-degree murder. This stems from an incident that occurred in May 2025 outside of a boxing event in Miami.
Additionally, Brown’s financial situation has taken a turn for the worse. He filed for bankruptcy in 2024, a drastic fall for someone who once had a $68 million deal during his NFL days.
The 37-year-old hasn’t played professional football since he parted ways with Tampa Bay in 2021. Brown’s exit from the Buccaneers was an infamous one, with Brown sensationally leaving mid-game which proved to be the final chapter in his NFL career. He since has remained a free agent as there has never been any serious interest from another team.
