Alabama’s Tim Keenan Speaks About the Team’s Defensive Issues Last Season
Defensive lineman Tim Keenan III was one of the first representatives from the Alabama Crimson Tide to speak at the SEC media days on Wednesday. One of the first things he was asked about was the team’s defensive struggles last season. He was asked how the team can get back to its defensive success from the Nick Saban days.
“Really just execution and focused,” Keenan said. “Attention to detail. Going out there and doing the coach’s plan and just trusting our ability, trusting our coaching, just playing the whole 60 minutes, playing the whole game through and just playing to beat the other man.”
While there was talk about the team’s defensive struggles early in the press conference, the next question brought up that many people think the team’s secondary can be a strength for the team this year. Keenan was asked if he thinks that can be true.
“Of course I believe in my teammates,” Keenan said. “Of course, time is still to tell, but we haven’t earned anything yet. We’ve still got to go out and play and execute. But the potential is definitely there. And I believe my guys can be the best in the country.”
The Alabama Crimson Tide are scheduled to start their season on Saturday, August 30, against the Florida State Seminoles. The team will be looking to return to the college football playoff after missing it in Kalen DeBoer’s first season as head coach.
