Jace LaViolette seems to have completely put his slow start to the season behind him and has taken it out on Arkansas for his lost ground. The Texas A&M center fielder hit four home runs against the Razorbacks this last series, in the midst of one of the hottest streaks in all of college baseball.
Lord Tubbington’s Hot Streak
Lord Tubbington, as he is known to his friends, teammates and fans, has homered in his last four consecutive games, most recently on Friday when he hit one in the first game of the doubleheader and two in the second.
Earlier on Friday, LaViolette homered in the first inning off pitcher Gage Wood with Terrence Kiel II on base. However, this strong start was not enough as the Aggies dropped the game 11-5.
In the second game of the day, Texas A&M struck back with LaViolette going yard twice. His first home run of the day came with no one on base in the first inning off Landon Beidelschies and his second in the fifth off Aiden Jimenez, again with Kiel on base.
Lord Tubbington’s display of power worked marvelously for the Aggies, who ended up scoring nine runs and held the Razorbacks to just five.
This series began on Thursday, a game that Texas A&M also won, 7-4, and in which LaViolette also homered. It came in the ninth inning off Christian Foutch to drive in his team’s final run.

LaViolette’s productivity in the series against Arkansas was impressive. In 12 at-bats he earned five hits (BA .416), including four home runs, scored eight runs, drove in seven, earned three walks and kept the strikeout box clean.
The Pensacola, Florida native now has 15 home runs and 50 RBIs on the season. His BA is .304 and it is noteworthy that more than half of his 43 hits are extra-base ones as he has nine doubles to go with his home runs.
LaViolette’s hot streak began last Tuesday against Tarleton. The center fielder contributed to his team’s 11-3 win with a seventh-inning home run that drove in Ben Royo and Jamal George.

Texas A&M remains in 11th place in the SEC standings with eight wins and 10 losses in conference games, 23-16 overall. However, they have played very well over the last three weeks, winning 10 of their last 12 games overall.
