College baseball is deep into its season, with only a little over a month left before conference tournaments commence. While stakes continue to get higher and higher, we are starting to get a feel for who the real contenders are as the postseason approaches.
The 2025 season has offered a lot in terms of Mid-Major upsets and intense conference play, which has led to plenty of weekly shakeups in the Top 25. The top five received a bit of a makeover this week as a new number one took over, while a few teams earned their way into the Top 25 for the first time this year.

2025 College Baseball Power Rankings
College baseball’s Top 25 has a new number one for the first time in a few weeks as the Arkansas Razorbacks took over for the former number one Tennessee Volunteers.
Arkansas was ranked second in Baseball America’s previous ranking and claimed the number one spot following an undefeated week, while Tennessee lost a three-game set at home in very poor fashion to a struggling Texas A&M team.
Georgia Tech, Western Kentucky, and TCU all took the spots of Dallas Baptist, Southern Mississippi, and Virginia Tech on Baseball America’s Top 25.
It is Georgia Tech’s and Western Kentucky’s first appearance on their ranking this year while TCU is returning to the list for the first time since the third week of the season.
Georgia Tech and TCU both went 4-0 this past week, while Western Kentucky went 2-2 but earned a big series win over Dallas Baptist and nearly beat a tough Vanderbilt team in extra innings.
Kansas and Arizona both earned a spot back on D1 Baseball’s Top 25, taking the place of Arizona State and Kansas State.
Kansas is the top team in the Big 12 at the moment following series sweeps of both UCF and Oklahoma State. Arizona bumped Arizona State off of D1 Baseball’s Top 25 with a series win over the Sun Devils.
This ranking is a combination of both Baseball America and D1 Baseball’s Top 25.

1. Arkansas Razorbacks
- Previous Ranking: No. 2
- Last Week: 4-0
- Overall: 30-3
- Conf. Record (SEC): 11-1
Arkansas put on a dominant performance this week, sweeping rival Missouri. They scored at least 14 runs in all three games and ended up outscoring Missouri by a score of 51-9.
This came following a week in which they swept Vanderbilt and then South Carolina the week prior. Their lone conference loss came to a tough Ole Miss team who they took a road series from in mid-March.
The Razorbacks have one of the most high-powered offenses in the nation as seven of their hitters with at least 100 plate appearances are sporting an OPS north of 1.000.
A big top-10 matchup awaits them this weekend as they head to Athens to take on the number six Georgia Bulldogs.
2. Texas Longhorns
- Previous Ranking: No. 3
- Last Week: 3-1
- Overall: 26-4
- Conf. Record (SEC): 11-1
Texas continues to play at a high level in their inaugural season in the SEC. They made a statement this past weekend with a series sweep over Georgia at home which earned them a bump up in the rankings as Tennessee fell.
They currently sit in a tie with Arkansas for the best record in the SEC, with their only conference loss coming to number three LSU.
The pitching has been a huge key to success for the Longhorns. Their weekend starters – senior Jared Spencer and junior Luke Harrison have combined for a 3.11 ERA over 75.1 innings and 16 starts.
The bullpen has been great as well. Freshman Dylan Volantis has led the charge, allowing just three earned runs through 28.1 innings while striking out 36 batters.
3. LSU Tigers
- Previous Ranking: No. 5
- Last Week: 4-0
- Overall: 30-3
- Conf. Record (SEC): 10-2
LSU is another team that climbed the rankings following the shakeup at the top of the list.
Their two conference losses came at the hands of Texas in a three-game series, which is why they came in right behind the Longhorns. However, the Tigers have been without blemish the rest of the way.
They have series sweeps over Missouri, Mississippi State, and Oklahoma who they just beat this past weekend which earned them their rightful spot in the top three.
Similar to Texas, pitching has been LSU’s bread and butter. Sophomores Kade Anderson and Chase Shores, along with junior Anthony Eyanson, are one of the best starting rotations in the nation.

They have combined for a 3.55 ERA over 126.2 innings and 24 starts. The offense has been impressive as well.
Jared Jones, who passed up the MLB Draft last summer to return to LSU as a junior, leads the team with 11 home runs and a 1.219 OPS.
They have a big top 10 matchup on their hands this weekend as they face the other group of Tigers in Auburn.
