Arizona State has secured a major addition to its roster with the commitment of Pepperdine senior point guard transfer Moe Odum. The 6-foot-1 guard brings elite playmaking skills, perimeter shooting, and leadership to a Sun Devils team that is looking to bounce back from a difficult season.

Moe Odum Is a Proven Playmaker With Tournament Pedigree
Odum was a key player in the West Coast Conference (WCC) this past season, ranking second in the league with 7.5 assists per game while also contributing 13.1 points per contest. His efficiency from beyond the arc saw a significant jump, as he shot 37.9% from three-point range and an impressive 79.3% from the free-throw line.
His ability to distribute the ball and generate offense makes him a prime candidate to take over the starting point guard position at Arizona State.
One of Odum’s most impressive stretches came during the WCC Tournament, where he willed his team to the semifinals with back-to-back stellar performances. He came up for a career-high 31 points and 11 assists against Portland, followed by a 17-point, 10-assist outing against Oregon State.
In the semifinals against Santa Clara, he recorded 19 points and 13 assists, showcasing his ability to perform under pressure.

Throughout the season, Odum demonstrated an elite ability to facilitate, finishing fourth in Division 1 in assists per game. He recorded double-digit assists in eight games, proving himself as one of the premier playmakers in college basketball.
ASU’s Need for a Strong Floor General
The Sun Devils faced significant challenges last season, including injuries and roster instability. The loss of Big 12 All-Freshman center Jayden Quaintance to a knee injury in February further exacerbated their struggles.
With head coach Bobby Hurley entering the final year of his contract, he is looking to rebuild the team’s backcourt through the transfer portal while retaining key freshmen like Quaintance and forward Amier Ali.
Odum’s addition fills a crucial gap, providing the team with a veteran presence at the point guard position. His ability to create plays, knock down threes, and facilitate offense makes him a perfect fit for Hurley’s up-tempo system. With his leadership and skill set, he is expected to be the engine that drives the Sun Devils’ offense next season.
What’s Next for Odum?
Odum’s transfer marks a pivotal moment for Arizona State as they aim to reestablish themselves in a competitive Big 12 conference. His proven scoring and passing ability will not only elevate the team’s offensive production but also bring stability to the lineup.
