Pop Isaacs Transfer Portal: Top 5 Landing Spots for the Creighton Guard

Creighton guard Pop Isaacs is entering the transfer portal, his agents told Field of 68’s Jeff Goodman. The Bluejays junior averaged 16.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in eight games last season, including a 27-point performance against Kansas, before having season-ending surgery.

Here are five potential transfer portal landing spots for the junior guard.

Pop Isaacs’s Top Transfer Portal Landing Spots

After several seasons with the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Creighton Bluejays, Isaacs is on the move again.

    Kentucky Wildcats

Prior to his transfer to Creighton last year, the Wildcats heavily recruited Isaacs. The team could take another look at the 6’2” guard as Jaxon Robinson, Koby Brea, Lamont Butler, and Kerr Kriisa head out the door this offseason.

With Otega Oweh potentially leaving the Wildcats for the NBA Draft, they’ll have plenty of minutes to fill.

    Ole Miss Rebels

With guards Sean Pedulla, Matthew Murrell, Jaylen Murray, Dre Davis, and Davon Barnes all holding on to senior status, Ole Miss has big shoes to fill at the position.

Isaacs played his first two years in college for then-head coach Mark Adams’ Texas Tech teams and could look to reunite with the embattled coach in Oxford.

    Michigan Wolverines

Dusty May’s Wolverines team has been successful in the portal. While top guards Tre Donaldson and Roddy Gayle Jr. are expected to return, seniors Nimari Burnett and Rubin Jones are leaving over 47 minutes of playtime available for the Bluejays guard to collect.

With former Oklahoma State head coach Mike Boynton, who landed an official visit from Isaacs, on staff, the Wolverines will be seriously considered.

    Oklahoma State Cowboys

Or, perhaps Isaacs was really impressed by Stillwater, Oklahoma. With a new coaching staff in place as of last year, the connection is no longer as strong between the Cowboys and Isaacs, but he would immediately be slotted in as a top—if not the top—player on the team.

    UNLV Rebels

Isaacs, who hails from Las Vegas, received his first offer from the Runnin’ Rebels in 2017 when Marvin Menzies was in charge of the program.
