Iowa guard Josh Dix is entering the transfer portal after three seasons with the Hawkeyes. Dix has improved a lot throughout his time as this season he was the team’s second-leading scorer with Iowa averaging 14.4 PTS, 3.2 REB, and 2.8 AST last season. Now that he is entering the transfer portal, he is currently ranked as the #1 portal prospect.
According to Rob Reinhart, a number of colleges have reached out to him about potentially landing him on their roster. We can look at each of them and see how Dix would fit.

Five Landing Spots for Josh Dix
Alabama
Dix is deadly in the mid-to-long range, and his going to a team that is coming off a season that was No. 1 in scoring offense across all of the NCAA would make sense. He loves to take 3-pointers as he finished last season with a 42.2% from the three-pointer.
Auburn
The conference rival to Alabama is also coming off a historic season as they look to add to their offense. If the Tigers add Dix to their roster, they can have a lethal sharp-shooter lineup. Being teammates with Denver Jones and Miles Kelly, who shot 41.6% and 39.4%, respectively, could add even more to the #10 ranked scoring offense.
Providence
With the Friars now losing one of their star forwards, Bryce Hopkins, Providence could use this addition. It may not cover up a hole they will have once Hopkins leaves, but they can play their strengths by adding a lot more shooting depth from the three-point line.
Michigan State
Dix is still young, and having a chance to play under coach Tom Izzo for the Spartans would definitely help unlock his potential. Izzo has proved that Michigan State is always in the conversation when it comes to the NCAA tournament, and with Izzo always bringing out the best in players, Dix’s game would help.
Louisville
While Louisville is a great team, Terrence Edwards Jr. and Chucky Hepburn, some of their best offense players, are seniors this year and could be leaving soon. Dix has a lot of potential and can be the next guy up if he ends up going. He can make cuts to open space on the court to create plays on offense.

No matter where Dix ends up, he has much potential to be an even better shooter and offensive playmaker than he already is. He’s still young and has more time in the NCAA to develop.
