Florida head coach Todd Golden, a dual citizen of the U.S. and Israel, has led the Gators to a 30-4 record, a dominating SEC tournament championship, and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.

Golden graduated from Sunnyslope High School in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2003, where he helped lead the team to the 2002 Arizona 4A state championship.

Golden committed to Saint Mary’s College of California, where he played for the Gaels from 2004 to 2008, appearing in two NCAA tournaments. He played for Maccabi Haifa in the Israeli Basketball Premier League from 2008 to 2010, averaging 2.2 points in 22 games.
After his basketball career, Golden joined Kyle Smith’s Columbia staff as director of basketball operations, then as assistant coach. In 2014, he joined Bruce Pearl’s staff in Auburn as director of basketball operations, then an assistant coach.
In 2016, Golden reunited with Smith in San Francisco as an associate coach. In 2019, he was promoted to head coach after Smith departed for Washington State.
At San Francisco, Smith led the team to a 24-10 record and an NCAA tournament berth in his third season. The Dons were awarded a No. 10 seed and lost in the first round to No. 7 Murray State in overtime.
In 2022, Golden signed a six-year contract as the head coach of Florida, replacing Mike White.
In his first season as Gator head coach, Golden’s Florida team was awarded a No. 4 seed in the NIT after an eight-place season in the SEC. The next year, the Gators finished sixth in the SEC, earning a No. 7 seed in the NCAA tournament. The Gators lost to No. 10 Colorado in a high-scoring nail-biter in the first round.
This year, Golden led Florida to a 30-4 record and an SEC tournament championship. In November, The Independent Florida Alligator reported Golden was accused of sexual harassment and stalking numerous women, specifically University of Florida students.
Florida announced they concluded their investigation and found no evidence of wrongdoing.
