Gonzaga has made nine straight Sweet 16s. Perhaps more impressively, in 26 years of Mark Few, the Bulldogs have made the tournament a perfect 26 times.

How Does Gonzaga’s Sweet 16 Streak Compare to Other NCAA Powerhouses?
Gonzaga hasn’t missed a Sweet 16 since 2013-14, when the team was eliminated in the second round as a No. 8 seed by No. 1 Arizona. Their nine years in the tournament’s second-weekend tie the 1985-93 North Carolina Tar Heels and 1998-2006 Duke Blue Devils for the longest in history.
While the storied Blue Devils have an additional seven-year streak on their resume, no other program has more than five. Kansas (1993–97), Kentucky (1995–99), Michigan (2017–22), and Houston (2019–present) each hit five in a row, and the Cougars look to make it six as a No. 1 seed this year.
No other team has an active streak in the second weekend of March Madness longer than two years. Alabama, UConn, Creighton, San Diego State, and Tennessee have all appeared in back-to-back Sweet 16s and are looking for their third in 2025.
Can Gonzaga Make a Run?
No. 8 Gonzaga has emerged as a popular upset pick as it prepares to face no. 9 Georgia in the battle of the Bulldogs. Ranked No. 8 in NET and No. 9 on KenPom, the Bulldogs are a popular pick to beat Georgia and make life difficult for No. 1 Houston.
