Born on April 20, 1979, Edwards Sr. is a former Canadian Football League player who played for nine seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Montreal Alouettes.
In April 2003, Edwards Sr. signed with the Atlanta Falcons and played college football at Georgia from 1999 to 2002. Until the record was broken in 2013, Edwards Sr. held the SEC record for most career receptions. In 2023, nine years after his retirement, his 204 receptions still earned him the overall tenth position in this record.
Edwards announced his retirement from professional football in 2014.
Terrence Edwards Jr.’s Upbringing and its Influence on Him
As Edwards Jr once mentioned, his dad is a huge role model for him – so much so that he once wanted to be a footballer like his dad. Even when he played poorly, his father always told him what he needed to hear in the best possible way.
Even though he used to hate his dad’s corrections as a younger player, Edwards Jr conversations with him have made him resilient and taught him accountability for all his actions as a player and team member.
In an interview with Edwards Jr., he mentioned that his father’s most significant lesson is to never take anything for granted and always seize every opportunity. His dad also taught him that even if he ever gets to a low point in his career as a player, he should learn to get back up.
Last week, Edwards Sr. stated how he feels about his son’s career as a player for the Louisville Cardinals.
“I love my time at Louisville…I just love this city. I’m glad my son came here.”
Edwards Jr.’s contribution to restoring Louisville’s basketball to its former glory has elicited gratitude from fans, who have also recognized his efforts in supporting to stardom.
