According to insider Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, the South Florida Bulls will now seek a new head coach after deciding to part ways with interim head coach Ben Fletcher.
Who could the school target for the position?

Five Replacements for Ben Fletcher
The search for Fletcher’s replacement has already begun, which means there could be plenty of candidates for the position.

Here are the five best options for the Bulls as they search for their next head basketball coach:
Juwan Howard
The former Michigan man has been away from the sidelines this season after he was fired in 2024 after five seasons in Ann Arbor.
He guided the Wolverines to an Elite Eight appearance and a Sweet 16 appearance during his time there. But he also played for the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat during his NBA career, which means he knows what kind of basketball talent is in the state of Florida.
Steve Wojciechowski
Despite coaching the Salt Lake City Stars of the G League, the former Duke star and Marquette head coach might want to return to the college game.
Wojciechowski also worked as an assistant under Mike Krzyzewski for many years before he became a head coach. An opportunity in the American Athletic Conference like this one could help him ease back into coaching in college.
Tom Crean
Head coaches with experience taking teams to the Final Four don’t grow on trees often. The former Marquette and Indiana head coach has been away from the sidelines for a few seasons but could be an option for teams needing some actual head coaching experience.
The Bulls may want to try their luck with the 58-year-old former Big Ten Coach of the Year.
John Thompson III
Following the pattern of experience, the Bulls should look to hire a head coach with a solid track record.
While Thompson led the Georgetown Hoyas to the Final Four in 2007, he has not coached since 2017. South Florida could be the perfect landing spot for him as he tries to get back into the swing of things at the college level.

Chris Carawell
A top assistant under Jon Scheyer at Duke and a former ACC Player of the Year, Carawell is one of the rising assistants in the game.
If you are a school looking to get back on the winning track, hire a coach from a winning program. Carawell fits the mold.
