Duke Blue Devils recruit Cameron Boozer, son of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer, is one of the best high school players in the nation. He committed to the Blue Devils basketball program on Oct. 11, 2024, after considering options from a variety of basketball superpowers, including Florida and North Carolina.
Ever since, the five-star recruit hasn’t stopped racking up points and earning accolades, leading some to label him “the most decorated high school basketball player of all time.”

A consensus five-star recruit, expectations were through the roof for Boozer, and he hasn’t disappointed. The 17-year-old just helped his Christopher Columbus High School secure a fourth straight state title, has won three straight Peach Jams, and is a two-time gold medalist.
Boozer was named to the 2023 FIBA Americas Under-16 team, was the 2024 FIBA Under-17 World Cup MVP, and the 2023 Gatorade National Player of the Year at just 15 years old. He’s also racked up two Florida Mr. Basketball titles and was pronounced 2023 Mr. Basketball USA.
In the 2023 FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship in Mérida, Yucatán Boozer excelled, averaging 16.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 1.2 assists. He led Team USA to an 82-point gold medal victory over Team Canada, which earned him the Under-16 Most Valuable Player award.
Boozer currently measures 6’9″, 235 pounds, and plays power forward. He excels at size, leadership, rebounding, potential, and intangibles, rating 9/10 in each category on NBADraft.net.
He struggles most with quickness and his jump shot, each receiving a 7/10 rating.
Cameron’s fraternal twin brother, Cayden Boozer, is also a Duke commit. The 6’4″, 205-pound point guard is also a five-star recruit and played alongside him on both the 2023 FIBA Under-16 and 2024 FIBA Under-17 teams.
Boozer’s Competition? Lew Alcindor
In high school, Lew Alcindor — now known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar — was unstoppable.
The five-time NBA champion attended Power Memorial Academy, a private all-boys Catholic high school, and helped lead the team to three straight New York City Catholic championships, a 71-game winning streak, and a 79-2 record.
Alcindor racked up 2,067 total points, a New York City high school record. The team won two national high school boys basketball championships in his sophomore and junior years, and he came runner-up in his senior year.
