Future NBA Hall of Famer and current Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo recently shared his post skills with one of college basketball’s top prospects. Ranked in the top three on just about every NBA draft board, Rutgers freshman Ace Bailey has had a solid season, averaging 17.6 ppg with 7.2 rebounds while shooting 45.8% from the floor.
He scored a career-high 39 points against Indiana in January. As a 6’10 stretch wing, it’s no wonder Giannis recognized the need for Bailey’s offensive post-game development.

Coming from a rich basketball legacy and a certain “one-and-done,” Bailey will follow in his family’s footsteps come June. His mother and father both played collegiate basketball, while his aunt, Venus, was a member of the 1996 Olympic Gold Medal team.
With the Greek Freak’s guidance, there is no better mentor to have than a two-time MVP and NBA champion whose archetype and build are nearly identical.
Draft experts have praised Bailey for his ability to score at all three levels, with further comparisons to that of Paul George and Kevin Durant. However, some scouts and executives have since questioned his ability to develop long-term.
Taking criticism to heart, Bailey has sought out numerous NBA talents to assist him on his development and journey to Draft Night. Always improving with a drive and willingness to learn, Rutgers head coach Steve Pikielli stated Ace “may be the most versatile wing player in the country.
“What he does is pass the ball. He’s an elite 6-foot-10 passer—But he’s an emergency defensive guy—He makes guys around him better, which I think the great ones do,” Bailey’s college coach said.

As March Madness approaches, this is the chance for prospects to show the world what they’re made of. Recently landing on both the Big Ten’s Third Team and All-Freshman team, Bailey is primed for an electric March.
However, with the Scarlet Knights basically out of bracket contention, we’ll have to pay close attention to the Big Ten tournament.
