University of North Dakota junior Treysen Eaglestaff has entered the transfer portal and will also test the NBA Draft process. He confirmed his decision on social media Tuesday, just days after becoming the first player in three seasons to score 50 points in an NCAA Division I men’s basketball game.
Eaglestaff earned second-team All-Summit League honors this season after averaging nearly 19 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. He was named North Dakota’s Mr. Basketball in 2022 after averaging 30 points per game for Bismarck High School.

Top 3 Landing Spots for Treysen Eaglestaff
Analysts are buzzing about Eaglestaff’s potential impact as he enters the transfer portal and tests the NBA Draft waters. ESPN’s Jonathan Givony emphasized his standout performances when breaking the news.
“The 6’6 junior scored 51 points in the Summit League tournament quarterfinal and 40 points versus Alabama in December,” Givony said.
- Alabama
Alabama could have a need on the wing with Chris Youngblood running out of eligibility. Barring any transfers, the Crimson Tide will have limited roster spots next season, so head coach Nate Oats will have to decide if Eaglestaff is worth taking over other potential options that may enter the portal later.
Eaglestaff has already shown he can compete against top-level talent. He scored 40 points against Alabama this season, proving he can perform against elite competition in a Power 5 conference like the SEC.
2. Kentucky
Kentucky will likely look to add players through the transfer portal since most of the current roster will be out of eligibility after this season. Standing at 6’6″, Eaglestaff is a versatile offensive player, but he’s best known for his elite shooting ability.
His three-point shooting makes him a perfect fit for Coach Pope’s offense. Eaglestaff’s ability to stretch the floor and score from deep would be a valuable asset for Kentucky next season.
3. Oklahoma
In a conference known for high-scoring games and tough competition, Eaglestaff has shown he can perform against top opponents. His scoring ability would boost Oklahoma’s offensive production and make him a key threat in clutch moments.
His versatility would also give Coach Moser more flexibility in designing offensive plays, creating mismatches, and opening up better scoring opportunities. Eaglestaff’s ability to score from all areas of the court would make him a valuable asset for the Sooners next season.
