Cooper Flagg’s Mom, Kelly, Responds After Her Viral Duke-UNC Game Moment

Every time the North Carolina Tar Heels go up against the Duke Blue Devils, the match is one for the books. And oftentimes, it is not simply because of the brilliant players but also because of the fandom that is cheering them on. Undoubtedly, this time was no different.

Cooper Flagg’s Mom Issues Apology but Not to Carolina Fans!

At the Dean E. Smith Center, UNC held a 59-57 lead during the under-12 media timeout. However, this was before Cooper Flagg decided to change the game scores.

Flagg ended the night with 15 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and four blocks. Above all, he took Duke to an 82-69 win. But the limelight was not on Cooper Flagg, but another member of the Flagg clan.

Flagg ended the night stuffing the stat sheet with 15 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and four blocks, steering Duke to an 82-69 win. But the highlight of the night? A monstrous two-handed dunk from Flagg that sent Duke fans into a frenzy—and one fan in particular made the moment unforgettable.

Flagg’s mother, Kelly Flagg, stole the show with an electrifying celebration, and her passionate outburst instantly went viral.

As the Cooper Flagg flair took over the game, the arena was charged. But Kelly Flagg, mother of Cooper, was particularly proud and driven by adrenaline. The match despite the great dunks from Cooper, had a rather slow start that was combined with early foul trouble.

However, by the second half, he was at his very best. And with just over a minute left, he put the game on ice with a dunk so ferocious it could be heard from Durham. As Cooper made the dunk, his mom Kelly let the world know how she felt.

“ON HIS F***ING HEAD!!” she screamed. Kelly’s voice sliced through the chanting crowd, and cameras caught her in her raw element.

And, of course, social media wasted no time and made it a moment to be remembered. Despite the thrill that came with the moment, many UNC fans weren’t too happy with Kelly’s choice of words.

So, as expected, the internet speculated away and all sorts of reactions came in. But Kelly Flagg being her unapologetic self, has taken the moment to set the record straight. Not so long ago, Kelly posted her statement.

“I appreciate all of you who have supported us all season long, especially last night after my call for bail money.” It gets better.

Kelly, fully owning the moment wrote, “There were many willing to start a GoFundMe and several others ready to ride at dawn!” Then came the unapologetic apology!

“I also want to apologize to anyone who was offended by my language that was caught in a celebratory moment. I do realize that it wasn’t my best look. However, if you actually know me and are a real friend of mine, you weren’t shocked.”

Kelly Flagg was not done just yet, as she doubled down, calling out the Carolina crowd for their treatment of her family throughout the game.

“We were taken aback by the crudeness of the UNC fans as we made our way into the arena. They continued to harass us with much worse being spewed in our direction, as well as at our 18-year-old son and his teammates throughout the entirety of the game.” Kelly went on to add a little dunk of her own to the end of the statement.

“The celebration was a moment of being so proud of our kid and also a big F-you to the entire Carolina fan base for being classless a-holes. If you are a UNC fan and didn’t like it… tough! Better luck next time! Go Duke.” No regrets. No filter. Just straight fire from the Flagg Clan.

Now, with Duke at 28-3 and aiming for the No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, it’s safe to say this rivalry isn’t cooling down anytime soon. And if Cooper Flagg is on the courts, the world could expect some more Kelly Flagg madness.

Buckle up folks, the show has only just begun.
