The 2024-25 AP Poll Top 25 men’s college basketball ranking was released on Monday, and Bruce Pearl’s Auburn retains the top spot for the eighth week in a row.

Bruce Pearl Trolls Kentucky Fans After Auburn SEC Title Win
Pearl was over the moon after his Auburn men’s basketball team beat Kentucky 98-74 to clinch his fourth regular season SEC title. This is Auburn’s first win at the Rupp Arena in 37 years.
The win was memorable for Pearl, who had been linked to the Wildcats’ coaching job since John Calipari left last season. However, the Orange coach has been adamant about not wanting to coach the rival team and clapped back at Kentucky fans after the win on Sunday.
“Every time y’all have an opening, my name comes up. Why would you want me as a coach when I can’t win at Rupp?” he declared.
Pearl was a front-runner to land the vacancy in 2024 before Mark Pope was given the job. So, beating the Wildcats will be another feather in his cap.

Meanwhile, Pearl congratulated his former team, Tennessee, which defeated his in-state rival Alabama and clinched the SEC title for Auburn. “VFL and War Damn Eagle,” he wrote on X.
With Auburn securing the SEC regular season title and sitting at 27-2, attention will be given to the SEC Tournament, where the Tigers hope to win and also get to the Final Four during March Madness.
Auburn already ranks first in the 2024-25 AP Top 25 Poll, and the Tigers are the No. 1 seed heading into March Madness. They are also considered favorites to win the national championship title.
