‘The Least Talented Carolina Team’ – Fans React to Anonymous Coach’s Blunt Comment on Hubert Davis & Team

The University of North Carolina men’s basketball team started a late-season resurgence by winning five straight games, the latest being a commanding 92-73 win over Miami on Saturday.

However, the Tar Heels are in a tight race to make the upcoming Big Ten tournament, a far contrast to last season, when they finished as the regular season ACC champions.

Hubert Davis Explains Why He Called Early Timeout in UNC Win vs. Miami

UNC made it a fifth straight win after cruising past Miami 92-73 at the Smith Center on Saturday. The Tar Heels dominated the game from the beginning but allowed the Hurricanes to cut a 10-point to four points at 31-27 in the first half.

UNC head coach Hubert Davis had to call a rare early timeout with 7:15 remaining in the half. The fiery coach was seen chastising his team so much that he had to dry his face with a towel.

“I just didn’t think the discipline and details, things that we talk about that have to be there consistently, was happening in that stretch,” Davis explained after the game. “And I wanted to take a timeout to communicate that to them.”

UNC boosted their defense, limiting Miami to 2-11 shooting in the first half’s final minutes. Then the Tar Heels increased the lead to 46-31 at halftime, and the Hurricanes never got closer to 14 points for the rest of the game.

Saturday’s win improves UNC to 19-11 overall and 12-6 in ACC play this season. The Tar Heels will be on the road to play Virginia Tech on Tuesday.
