With the Big East title secured, Pitino and his wards will now focus on the NCAA tournament starting this month.
Although the Red Storm still have one game in the regular season, against No. 21 Marquette on March 8, they will be looking to make a deep run in the NCAA tournament.
This will be St. John’s first attempt to win an NCAA title since 2019 and its fourth since 2002. While there will be tougher teams on the way, the Red Storm have a coach who knows what it takes to win a national championship, having won it with Kentucky and Louisville in the past.
