NFL Draft projections around Shedeur Sanders get bigger with each passing day. His decision not to work out in the Combine has sparked debate among fans and experts.
The Colorado quarterback’s tape of 30+ games should speak volumes since he opted to engage in interviews with different teams rather than participate in the drills at Lucas Oil Stadium from Feb. 27, 2025, to March 2, 2025.
Looking at the current scenario, he remains a hot prospect in the 2025 draft’s quarterback class. Speaking about his prowess and potential destination, Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt shared his analysis of why Sanders is better than anyone else in the class.

Joel Klatt Gives Shoutout to Shedeur Sanders
Deion Sanders’ son was pivotal in Colorado’s 9-4 run last season. They were able to go past the regular season and punch a Bowl game ticket. It was the first time since 2020 that the program made it to the postseason and also managed to produce NFL-worthy athletes.
All thanks to Coach Prime and his strategy with the help of his son Shedeur. Heading into the 2025 draft, Sanders and Miami QB Cam Ward stay atop the leaderboard. Klatt believes that there’s nobody like Shedeur in this year’s class.

“My number one quarterback available in this year’s NFL draft is Shedeur Sanders from Colorado,” Klatt mentioned. “He is equal parts surgeon and artist, and that’s one of the reasons why I love his game, and I think it’s translatable to the National Football League. He is more ready now to go in and be the starting quarterback than anybody else in this draft.
“Now, there are some talented players that I’ll talk about, but he’s the one that is ready right now. You can plug him into an NFL offense next week, and he can start for you. He’s that smart; he’s that capable.”
Klatt added, “Why is he my number one quarterback? He has proven exactly what he needs to do at the next level: raise the level of the entire organization, the entire team, the offense, and everyone around him. He’s already done that. So there is a clear top two in this draft, and that second guy is going to be Cam Ward.
“I like Cam Ward a lot. I love his game. It’s different than Shedeur Sanders, but these two guys have clearly separated themselves out, and these two guys will absolutely get selected in the first five picks of the NFL Draft.”
