On Thursday, Feb. 13, USC Trojans men’s head basketball coach Eric Musselman did not miss an opportunity to cross paths with plenty of stars at USC’s women’s game.

Eric Musselman Makes the Rounds
As the head men’s basketball coach of arguably the marquee school in southern California, Eric Musselman has made a point of embracing everything.
Part of embracing it means meeting and chatting with stars from all walks of life.
During the USC women’s upset win over the No. 1-ranked UCLA Lady Bruins, Musselman met with new Los Angeles Sparks star Kelsey Plum, Vanessa Bryant, the wife of the late great Kobe Bryant, and actors and actresses Kevin Hart, Issa Rae, and Sanaa Lathan.
You never know who you will run into at a USC basketball game.
They all showed up to see superstar guard JuJu Watkins put up 38 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists in the winning effort.

How Musselman Has Faired as the Trojans’ Head Coach
In his first season coaching the Trojans, Musselman’s team has fought hard but is currently boasting middle-of-the-pack results, at best. They are currently 14-10 overall and are sitting at 6-7 in conference.
If the team hopes to make a run at the NCAA Tournament, it will have to finish the season strong. The 60-year-old Musselman has been around the block and coached on many levels.
A former head coach of the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings, he made the move to coach college in 2012 when he became an assistant at Arizona State. He would later become a head coach at both Nevada (2015-2019) and Arkansas (2019-2024) before heading to Hollywood to coach USC.
Musselman’s best finish as a college coach came with Arkansas in 2022 and 2023 when he guided the Razorbacks to back-to-back Elite Eight appearances.

He also took Nevada to the Sweet 16 in 2018.
While the Trojans might be bumpy right now, they could very well be in good hands for the foreseeable future, especially if he can lead his team to a strong finish at the end of this current season.
