Former Pac-12 foes and now Big Ten opponents, the Ducks will visit the Bruins for their second matchup of the season on Thursday night. UCLA ended Oregon’s 13-0 start to the season, handing them a 73-71 loss in Eugene in early December. At 6-4 and 5-4 in the conference, the Bruins and Ducks, respectively, each hold hopes of finishing the season high in the standings.
In our Oregon vs. UCLA prediction, we’ll break down our thoughts on the spread, total, and money line in this late-night West Coast matchup. Can the Bruins stay hot, adding another victory to their four-game winning streak, or will the Ducks come in determined to avenge their early season loss? Find out below.

The Ducks have only been the underdog three times this season, covering in each. Nine games have featured a line of less than five in the season, with Oregon covering only three. The over has hit in seven of their last 11 outings, with all but one going above the listed 140.5 line. The Ducks sport an excellent 4-1 record on the road.
In their last 10 games, the Bruins have been favored in seven. They’ve covered in only two of those contests. The over has hit in six of UCLA’s last seven games — similar to the Ducks, all but one went over 140.5. The Bruins will put their 10-1 home record on the line.
Prediction for Oregon vs. UCLA
These teams met on Dec. 8, 2024, in which UCLA guard Dylan Andrews nailed a last-second three-pointer to steal the victory on the Ducks’ home court. Oregon big man Nate Bittle dominated down low, scoring 22 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Guard Eric Dailey Jr. poured in 19 points for the Bruins.
The Ducks were favored by -3.5 in that matchup, while the line total was set at 137.5. The Bruins covered, and the over was successful.
This matchup will take place in Pauley Pavilion while the teams are in the midst of their Big Ten conference schedules. The Ducks, after starting the season 15-2, have dropped two of their last three with the last defeat coming against Minnesota on the road.
Meanwhile, the Bruins, after losing four straight conference games and getting publicly chewed out by head coach Mich Cronin, have pieced together a four-game winning streak — though their last three games have been won by a total of 13 points.
The expected final score is 72-68, with the books predicting a score not far off from their previous matchup.
I expect this to be another extremely competitive, closely-contested game. The Ducks getting +170 odds caught my eye — they’ve shown the propensity for winning close games on the road in conference play, evidenced by their one- and two-point victories over Penn State and Ohio State, respectively.
What makes this matchup different is how hot the Bruins are, but I expect Oregon to be highly-motivated to win this game, and with good value on the money line, take the Ducks to win in Los Angeles.

As mentioned, the over has been extremely successful in each of these teams’ recent games. The line sitting at only 140.5 seems like a reflection of where these teams were nearly two months ago. For that reason, I’d hammer the over. Alternate lines also present the over of 145.5 with favorable +150 odds — if you’re feeling it, go for the plus value.
Prediction: Oregon 75, UCLA 72
