BYU vs. West Virginia: Key Players to Watch
The rushing game has been a key to the Cougars’ success this season. They are the No. 23-ranked team in the nation and remain undefeated through their first four games. Running back LJ Martin has played a big part in that, and he will need to continue his strong play for the team. So far this season, he has 55 carries for 400 yards and one TD.
On the side of the Mountaineers, no player has been more impactful than their quarterback, Nicco Marchiol. However, he has struggled with consistency. He has strong counting stats, completing 66 of 98 passing attempts for 720 yards and two TDs, while adding 146 rushing yards and one TD. However, he has also thrown two interceptions. The Mountaineers will need him to be at his best if they want to be competitive against the Cougars.

BYU vs. West Virginia Predictions
Many eyes will be on this game as the premier Friday night matchup of the week. It is set to kick off on Friday at 10:30 p.m. ET. However, it is unlikely to be a competitive matchup. BYU has been strong to start the season, winning all four of its games, including three of them by a wide margin. Their only competitive matchup was a 24-21 win over Colorado last week.
Conversely, West Virginia has been blown out twice and has only won two of its first three matchups. The Mountaineers are already 0-2 in conference matchups, and we expect that trend to continue on Friday. We expect the margin of victory to be so strong for the Cougars that they could even cover the 18.5-point spread.
