Not only do the Gators face one of the new faces in the SEC, they have to travel to DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas, as a part of the expansion. The Gators avoid Oklahoma in the Sooners’ first season as a member of the SEC, though that remains to be seen when they’ll first play them and whether that’s in 2025 or later.
Florida and Texas have played just thrice in their history, but not since 1940. Texas leads the series that renews itself in 2024 by a margin of 2-0-1. Similarly, Florida and Oklahoma have only played twice, except much more recently than Texas.
Florida and Oklahoma battled in the Cotton Bowl in 2020, with the Sooners defeating the Gators 55-20. They previously met in 2009 during the BCA National Championship, won, of course, by the Gators, 24-14.

Notable future games for Florida also include a dramatically difficult 2026 schedule that includes three ACC teams as a part of their non-conference schedule. With Cal joining the ACC in 2024, UF’s non-conference slate includes trips to NC State and Florida State as well as a visit from Cal.
For the first time since 1991, the SEC will not feature divisions in the conference. The top two teams will square off at the end of the year in the SEC Championship Game to culminate the season. With Oklahoma and Texas in the conference this season, the 2024 campaign truly means more.
