Georgia Football Celebrates Brock Bowers’ Being Named No. 1 Tight End in NFL With Bold IG Flex

NFL coaches, executives and scouts have voted on who is the best tight end in the league, and Las Vegas Raiders star Brock Bowers won that vote. This is the first time that a second-year player has been named the “Best Tight End in the NFL,” and his alma mater, Georgia, cannot be prouder.

The school’s official football page reposted the Las Vegas Raiders’ announcement that Bowers was named the best tight end in the league. He spent three years with the Bulldogs, from 2021 to 2023.

In winning the Top 10 TE Rankings, Bowers was chosen over some of the very best tight ends in the NFL today, including George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs. Trey McBride of the Arizona Cardinals and Sam LaPorta of the Detroit Lions.

In just his rookie year, Bowers set NFL rookie records for receptions with 112 and receiving yards by a tight end at 1,194. In just his rookie season, Bowers had a higher percentage of their first downs than Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who only averaged 13.2% as a rookie, while Bowers averaged 20.2%.

He started as a quarterback for his junior varsity football team in high school at Napa High in California, but he soon shifted to being a tight end and linebacker when he joined the varsity team as a junior. As a senior, he was considered a four-star prospect and chose Georgia.
