Thomas Castellanos transferred from the Boston College Eagles to the Florida State Seminoles this offseason. The young quarterback has had a really solid career thus far, totaling 48 touchdowns through the air and on the ground in his three years of college football.
Expectations are high for Castellanos at Florida State, and since getting there, head coach Mike Norvell has liked what he’s seen.

Mike Norvell Praises Thomas Castellanos as FSU Eyes Explosive Option at QB
In an interview with the Florida State press, Norvell spoke about the impact that Castellanos has made, not only on the practice field but in the locker room as well, saying, “He’s got great skill with his arms and his legs. But the thing I’ve been most impressed with is his leadership.”
Norvell was later asked about his expectations for the Florida native, to which he said, “Our expectation is for him to be one of the best quarterbacks in the country.”
Florida State needs to have a good season, as last year the Seminoles only won two games, their lowest mark since 1974. If Norvell wants to keep his job, Castellanos has to come in and help turn the program around.
He can do so, as before getting injured last season, he had thrown 1,366 yards for 18 touchdowns. The year prior, Castellanos showed what he could do on the ground, rushing for over 1,100 yards.

With all the talent in the world, and better weapons than he’s ever had in his college career, I think there’s no question that Castellanos could have a big-time season with Florida State.
Norvell is a pretty mild-mannered coach, but you can see the way his face lights up when talking about the transfer quarterback, which is a good sign for FSU fans who just wanted the Noles to return to the college football spotlight.
