Jahdae Barron Shares Emotional Tribute to His Mother After Broncos Draft

Right after the draft dust settled, he took to Instagram to share something special. The post showed a family photo. He stood proud with his mom and siblings. He also wrote a caption that hit hard: “I gotta make up for all them nights that my momma cried.” A son laying it all out there for the woman who’s been his rock.

At Texas, he was a force in the secondary, a cornerback who could do it all. His final season was a highlight reel, five picks, 16 passes defended, and the Jim Thorpe Award to cap it off as the best defensive back in the country. His versatility set him apart. He could lock down receivers on the outside or slide inside to play nickel, always reading the game like a veteran.

The Broncos saw exactly what they needed in him. The Broncos have an elite CB in Pat Surtain II, but they want to add more versatility to their secondary. Barron was their guy, first-round pick, no hesitation. Denver’s GM, George Paton, couldn’t stop talking about his instincts and how he knows what’s coming before the snap.

With 57 college games under his belt, Barron’s not walking into the league green. He’s ready to contribute, and the Broncos have been banking on him as a difference-maker from day one of drafting him.
