Breaking Down Colorado Buffaloes’ Transfer Portal Moves After Colton Hood and Brandon Hood Leave

The Colorado Buffaloes lost Colton Hood and Brandon Hood on the last portal day, but was it a true loss for the Buffaloes? Here’s how it impacts their 2025 college football season, on a team that will have almost a brand-new look.

One of the biggest gets for Colorado this portal season came in former Auburn safety Terrence Love. Love entered the portal after two years with the Tigers. After seeing the field much less in his sophomore year, Love entered the portal and found his way to Coach Prime and the Buffaloes.

However, with the gains come the losses. One of the bigger losses for the Buffaloes this transfer portal was that of their freshman receiver, Adrian Wilson. Wilson was a four-star recruit in 2024, and didn’t play a single snap for Colorado last season.

Sophomore cornerback, Teon Parks committed to the Buffaloes following his transfer portal entry from Illinois State. Shortly after Parks committed to the Buffs, Colton Hood, now former Buffaloes cornerback entered the portal, seeing as he would more than likely be seeing the field less next season.

Colton’s brother, running back Brandon Hood, also entered the transfer portal planning to follow in his brother’s footsteps. Brandon Hood’s departure is going to hurt far more as it leaves the Buffaloes running back room very depleted. Only three scholarship running backs remain on the roster: Dallan Hayden, Micah Welch and Charlie Offerdahl.

The Buffaloes also lost Chidozie Nwankwo, Isaiah Augustave, Taje McCoy, Sam Hart, Myles Slusher, Savion Riley, Cash Cleveland, Kyeran Garcia, Ben Bouzi, Jay Gardenhire-Crooks, and Zechariah Owens. This is certainly a long list of players who won’t be back next season for Colorado.
