YouTuber Bordeaux Details Fixes In Transfer Portal, Defensive Play in EA Sports College Football 26

EA College Football 25 included the transfer portal, a feature that wasn’t even considered during the franchise’s earlier days. However, the addition came with some bumps in the road.

Those running their programs would wait to bolster their squads in the offseason, but were met with difficulty. Bordeaux explained how EA worked on a frustrating issue for this year’s edition.

“The transfer portal is gonna be 50 times better,” Bordeaux said on Friday, during his appearance on “Crain & Company.”

He detailed how the transfer portal has much more power in the new edition of the game and can better meet user expectations.

“I don’t know how in-depth you got with dynasty last year, but there would be years where you’d have no one that you’d even be able to go after. The problem was that not enough players were entering the portal. It was nothing like real life, where it’s just thousands of guys,” the YouTuber explained.

“They were only having a few hundred players enter each year because there were not enough players were meeting the deal-breakers,” he added. “So, like, if they’re upset with their playing time or if the school’s not at the championship level they want it to be, those players were still staying at the school. They weren’t transferring.”

Bordeaux said EA Sports “patched up the problem” using dynamic deal-breakers. In-game players will adjust their expectations to what they’ve become used to. “If somebody commits to your school and expects a championship contender to be, like, a ‘C’ when they do, but you get a lot better, that’ll raise, as well,” Bordeaux said.

However, if your program takes a downturn, that virtual player will reconsider his desire to be on your team.

Meanwhile, the defensive back play gets another facelift. Regarding actual gameplay, DBs will no longer be able to make blind interceptions, which they did even while looking elsewhere.

“One of the things they did talk about was fixing the defensive backs just catching it without looking,” Bordeaux said.

“You were beating these guys off the line, you were dropping it straight into their hands. There’s no way the corner would even know it’s there, but they’re still grabbing it … without even turning around. They have fixed that. They won’t be able to make plays.”
