Marcus Freeman’s name has been swirling on the internet for a couple of reasons in the last two weeks, one because his team, Notre Dame were snubbed out of the college football playoffs this year despite being on a 10-win streak, and second because of the Giants’ head coaching rumors.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo said that Freeman is a guy that should be in their coaching search, confirming that it is the case and that he is expecting the Notre Dame head coach to be the foremost among the college candidates as it pertains to NFL coaches, it’s going to be a widespread search due to an absence of Ben Johnson like head coach, who is a play caller, bell of the ball type coach.
“Would be a horrible move by Freeman. College coaches struggle in the NFL because they now have horrible GMs picking their players for them. Only reason to do this is a major pay increase.” another fan reacted
“I can see him going to the nfl he seem like a guy who wants to see if he could coach at the highest level but idk about the giants.” another fan wrote.

Do you know how ignorant it for you to think that a College Head Coach can come to the NFL and dominate with a Quarterback who will be in his Sophomore year in the NFL? Dart would actually regress as a player. Also, Mara isn’t going to hire this guy. Mara is only doing this because of the Flores lawsuit against him.” another fan questioned.
“Freeman’s name being “top candidate” this early means New York’s doing homework. Wild cycle ahead. I hope he stays and finishes what he started in South Bend, but can’t blame him if the NFL dream calls louder.” another fan highlighted.
“In the most respectful way… what has he done to deserve to be elevated to a coach of an NFL franchise.” another fan added.

Urban Meyer Weighs In on Marcus Freeman’s Michigan Rumors
During a recent episode of the Triple Option, Meyer talked about the rumors surrounding Freeman and Michigan as the Wolverines look to replace their fired head coach, Sherrone Moore.
“But someone said Marcus Freeman. What are you… out of your mind? … When you hear that stuff, that’s an agent out there, throwing his name out.” Meyer said.
Meyer said he doesn’t have much inside scoop on the matter but called out people who believe Freeman will leave the Fighting Irish, further conspiring that when you hear stuff like this, there’s a possibility there is an agent out there throwing out your name, trying to work out a contract extension and a raise for Freeman.
