Over the years, Yolett McPhee-McCuin has turned women’s basketball into a powerhouse. In six seasons, she has led the Rebels to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances. The 2023-24 season was nothing short of a dream come true.
A program-best 12 SEC wins, her 100th win at the helm, and a Battle 4 Atlantis Championship title secured in her home country, the Bahamas.
Now, her team has made it to the Sweet 16 for yet another season. How much does McPhee-McCuin make?

Yolett McPhee-McCuin Salary & Contract in 2025
Not so long ago, Ole Miss announced an extension that keeps her leading the Rebels through the 2026-27 season. Coach Yo was given a yearly pay of $1,087,500. This made her one of the top-paid coaches in women’s basketball. Now, that was a major jump from her 2023 salary of $850,000.
“We believe this extension acknowledges we have diligently worked to rebuild Ole Miss Women’s basketball into a nationally relevant program on and off the court,” McPhee-McCuin stated in the press release following the extension. However, it is not just the base salary.
There are also performance-based incentives. In 2022, only 11 women’s basketball coaches earned more than $1 million per season. Now, Coach Yo is one of them. Athletic director Keith Carter couldn’t be happier.
“Coach Yo has our women’s basketball program on a championship trajectory, and we can’t wait to see what lies in the years ahead with her vision, energy, and relentless dedication,” Carter said.
McPhee-McCuin, over the years, has transformed the program. Ole Miss went from 14 years without an NCAA Tournament appearance to back-to-back March Madness runs. McPhee-McCuin’s coaching has brought them a 79-75 record overall. To add on, a 48-18 run over the past two seasons.
