    Recent Commitments in Women’s Basketball

Some players who were previously uncommitted have made their decisions in the span of a week. MiLaysia Fulwiley, for example, announced her commitment on Friday, April 25, eight days after entering the transfer portal.

She has made the decision to join the LSU Tigers after playing with the Gamecocks for two seasons. In the 2024–2025 season, she averaged 11.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 18.9 minutes per game.

Another player, Jerni Kiaku, has announced her commitment to the IU Hoosiers. As a junior and Duquesne Dukes guard, she started and appeared in 33 games. She also averaged 13.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 1.7 assists per game last season.

Amiya Joyner has also recently announced that she has committed to LSU after playing for the East Carolina Pirates for three seasons. She averaged 15 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.

After a successful run as the Pirates’ star player for three years, including being named an All-AAC player and making a mark in the NCAA Tournament, all eyes are on Joyner to see how she will fare with the Tigers.

UConn coach Geno Auriemma has made it known that two players have officially visited and will most likely commit to the Huskies. One such player is Serah Williams, a former Wisconsin forward who averaged 19.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game in the 2024–2025 season.

She was also named to the Big Ten All-Defensive Team in both the 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 seasons.

The second UConn recruit is USC guard Kayleigh Heckel, a freshman who averaged 6.1 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game last season. With these talented players joining the Huskies, the team is expected to improve in scoring and three-point shooting next season.
