IN PICS: UConn’s Azzi Fudd, KK Arnold and More Sweat It Out in Gym While Preparing for 2025 Season

The UConn Huskies, led by the likes of Azzi Fudd and Sarah Strong, are working hard in the current college basketball offseason. On Wednesday, Sept. 3, the Huskies’ social media team posted a series of photos on Instagram, which showed Fudd and Strong working out in the gym as part of their off-court training.

Along with veterans such as KK Arnold, the first photo showed Strong doing an inclined drill with two kettlebells. This was followed by Ayanna Patterson also attempting an inclined drill, this time she is lying on her back and pushing two dumbbells upwards. The next photo showed Fudd working her upper body.

Arnold did a stress ball drill and was followed by transferee Kayleigh Heckel, who was doing squats. Ice Brady, Allie Ziebell, and Ashlynn Shade were also seen doing the same upper body workout, including barbell deadlifts. It seems as though most of the 2025-26 roster was present. The post was capped off with Arnold flexing her biceps for a photo.

    “Wednesday work,” @uconnwbb wrote.

Coach Geno Auriemma’s Huskies are coming off the 2024-25 season, in which they won the program’s 12th national title, most in women’s college basketball history. They beat the 2024 national champions, the South Carolina Gamecocks, in the 2025 NCAA title game by 23 points, 82-59. They now prepare for the 2025-26 campaign in the hopes of winning national title #13.

Ice Brady, Sarah Strong, and Azzi Fudd were seen doing different team-based and individual-skill workouts. The caption indicated that the Huskies had just wrapped up their first week of training camp.

“Week one done,” @uconnwbb wrote on Instagram.

As the team enters the second week of their training camp, the Huskies are poised for another deep postseason run in the upcoming campaign. They finished last year with an overall record of 37-3 (18-0 Big East).
