“We Don’t Run Away” – Studbudz Vow To Confront Michigan Superfan Dave Portnoy Over Angel Reese Comments

Michigan superfan Dave Portnoy is one of the most vocal media members in the North American sports community. As the founder of Barstool Sports, he is often active on podcasts and social media. As a result, it is not uncommon for him to make comments that upset people. Notably, he has been a longtime critic of Chicago Sky star Angel Reese.

One of his most recent comments came in a tweet on Saturday after Reese trademarked Mebounds, a term that was initially made by fans to mock how many offensive rebounds she gets off her own missed shots.

“I hate (sports sense) Angel Reese. Hate her. That’s how much it pains me to admit how brilliant it was for her team to trademark Mebounds and make it her thing. Brilliant. I hate how brilliant it is.”

On Wednesday, StudBudz posted a video on X talking about Angel Reese and confronting Dave Portnoy when he comes on her stream. She told her viewers that she is not afraid of getting in an argument with him.

“When Dave comes on we’re gonna ask him, ‘Hey Dave, why are you talking about Angel like that?’ Y’all see how simple that is? Y’all over her like, no no no. We don’t run away from… we head on. I don’t think he’s gonna deny it. He seems like the type of guy that’s gonna stand on what he feel,” StudBudz said.

Dave Portnoy Has Been Vocal About His Dislike of Angel Reese for a Long Time

Dave Portnoy’s comment about Angel Reese’s “Mebounds” trademark was not the only incident of him criticizing her. Portnoy has posted several videos and made many tweets in recent months, being critical of her. Notably, he is not a fan because he thinks she is a dirty player.

Notably, after a game between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever in June, Portnoy posted a video of Reese hitting Caitlin Clark in the face while trying to block her shot. In the video, Portnoy called Reese one of the “dirtiest players in the game.”
