South Carolina’s MiLaysia Fulwiley is on the exit ramp to leave the Gamecocks and the transfer could be finalized as early as next week. Rumors are even swirling that Fulwiley may stay within the SEC.

The report from X Skim Milkey’s (@SkimMilkey) college basketball coverage account indicates that Louisiana State University is leading the race to land the 20-year-old.
Skim Milkey cited “multiple sources” in stating that Fulwiley is scheduled to visit the Tigers’ facility next week. However, he also ventured that the player could commit to LSU before she even makes the trip.

However, the player herself later made some comments on social media that cast doubt on at least part of that report.
According to The Sporting News, Fulwiley called it a “lie” that she planned to visit other universities. She also denied that she had made any moves to return to South Carolina’s roster, although she hinted that she has plans to stay in the state where she is from.
If that is her final destination, there are plenty of options for her there, as South Carolina has several women’s basketball programs within NCAA Division I. Clemson University stands out, which could use a player like her in its quest to return to the NCAA Tournament.

MiLaysia Fulwiley played two seasons for the South Carolina Gamecocks, appearing in 77 games. He averaged 11.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game and helped the team reach the NCAA Division I Tournament, where they lost to UConn.
