IN PICS: South Carolina Hoopers Chloe Kitts, Ta’Niya Latson, Raven Johnson, And More Sweat It Out During Intense Preseason Workout

South Carolina Gamecocks standouts Chloe Kitts and Raven Johnson are working hard this current college basketball offseason. On Friday, Aug. 22, the Gamecocks’ social media team shared a carousel post on Instagram, showcasing a series of photos of different players from the incoming 2025-26 roster going through a high-intensity preseason workout.

The upload has four slides in total, starting with a black-and-white snap of the rope that the team uses for its rigorous off-the-court drills. The next photo sees tenured South Carolina sports performance coach Molly Binetti giving instructions to the team and its male practice players, as the whole team sweats it out in the strenuous practice session.

The third snap captures incoming freshman Ta’Niya Latson, recent transferees Maryam Dauda and Madina Okot, as well as team veterans Raven Johnson and Maddy McDaniel in a piggy-back drill, supervised by their team personnel. The last picture of the post showcases McDaniel and Kitts being joined by first-year guard Ayla McDowell in a team drill, with the aforementioned rope on the Colonial Life Arena stands.

“Early AM hits different in Final Four Friday,” @gamecockwbb captioned.

Kitts and Johnson were a part of the Gamecocks squad that won the 2024 national title when they defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes by 12 points, 87-75. The team, supplemented by the likes of Latson, McDaniel, and the other aforementioned names, now looks to win another national championship.

Chloe Kitts asserts that the South Carolina Gamecocks will come back right after their 2025 NCAA title game loss

The South Carolina Gamecocks were defeated by the UConn Huskies in the 2025 national championship game by 23 points, 82-59, which ended their chances at back-to-back national titles with their 2024 one.

During a post-game interview, Chloe Kitts said the Gamecocks will be back on the college basketball mountaintop, as that is their standard.

“You know, we’re going to be back here. We’ve been back here. We’re going to continue to be back here, that’s our standard. And, you know, we’re just going to get better and it’s a big learning lesson, and coach just told us to keep our heads up. She’s proud of us, so we should be proud of ourselves for making it this far. But of course, it sucks not to win,” Kitts said.
