Dawn Staley’s South Carolina Makes Major Chloe Kitts, Ta’Niya Latson Announcement Weeks Away from Season Tip-off

Dawn Staley has built a basketball powerhouse at South Carolina. Since her appointment in 2008, Staley has led the Gamecocks to glory on multiple occasions. Stars like A’ja Wilson, Aliyah Boston, Chloe Kitts, and more have grown under the leadership of coach Staley.

Last season, Staley uncharacteristically had a bit of a fallout with one of the more talented players in college basketball, MiLaysia Fulwiley, who couldn’t really find her place in Staley’s plans. After multiple instances of not starting and not contributing much to the Gamecocks, it was clear that she would be interested in taking her skill set to another team. As she traded to Kim Mulkey’s LSU Tigers, Staley’s Gamecocks got their hands on another super-talented player in the form of Ta’Niya Latson.

One of the most important pieces in Staley’s team has been Chloe Kitts. She is gearing up to play her senior year for the Gamecocks. With an average of 10.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists, Kitts had an average season.

As South Carolina reached the final, Chloe Kitts was one of the most senior players on the team. Despite losing to a star-studded UConn Huskies side, Staley and her squad showcased a brilliant brand of basketball. However, there was a slight worry around Chloe Kitts’ injury towards the end of the season.

Nevertheless, South Carolina fans will be taking a sigh of relief as Kitts seems to be perfectly healthy ahead of the season. On Tuesday, Oct. 7, South Carolina’s X account announced that the three players who would show up at the SEC tip-off next week are Chloe Kitts, Joyce Edwards, and new addition Ta’Niya Latson.

“Kitts bringing that big f*ckin knee brace or what?” One fan wondered.

“my baby chloe is ok,” another fan said.

“Obviously a good sign regarding Chloe’s Brace-gate,” another claimed.

    “Isn’t chloe injured???” One asked.

“This has to be a good sign for Chloe,” one user commented.

“Assume that this is a good sign pertaining to the Chloe Kitts injury,” another took a sigh of relief.

“Ain’t no one f*cking with us this year,” one Gamecocks fan showed confidence in the team.
